Hello my name is Bill George I am a Photographer. I started taking pictures at an early age, and I feel that I started taking good pictures once I received a little 35mm Ricoh from my grandparents. The Ricoh served me well, teaching me how to focus and meter, as well as providing me with some great images. I soon felt limited by the fixed focal length of my Ricoh so I started saving up to buy a SLR. My SLR has also served me well in my photography from high school through my college level film classes. My first digital camera was a lot of fun to use for taking fun pictures, but it was really my second digital camera that caused me get serious about photography. I decided to take a class in digital photography because I had a prosumer level camera and I felt that I should know how to use it. Taking digital photography class was a turning point for me: I had found my career path. I now use a Nikon DSLR for the majority of my work but I also use digital medium format as well.

In the photography department at Washtenaw Community College I have learned and loved many of my classes in: Large Format, Studio and Portraiture. Recently I have been enjoying the use of small strobes to produce environmental portraits and small tabletop product pictures. I'm concentrating this semester in finishing up in the photo department. I would like to be able to make a living as a photographer shooting weddings, environmental portraits, and product-portrait photography. I have a natural talent using cameras, lighting gear and especially strobes. I have excellent computer skills, being equally comfortable using Mac or PC and Photoshop or Lightroom.
